Liberty Redhawks golfer Raeleigh Davidson concluded her outstanding 2018-2019 golf season with a stellar finish at this year's UIL State 5A Girls' Golf Tournament. After shooting rounds of 75-74, the sophomore's consistent play led her to a tie for 7th place in the individual medalist standings after the conclusion of the 36-hole event. Her finish at the State tournament brought her record-setting year to its finish. During the season, Raeleigh played in 8 invitational events before competing in the District, Regional, and State tournaments. Out of her 11 total events, she won three and finished on the podium (top three) in three others; additionally, she finished as a top ten individual medalist in every event she entered this season. Her tournament stroke average of 74.33 is the new school record, beating the previous record held by Darby Deans (75.03 in 2016-17). She was also chosen as the Liberty Redhawks Girls' Golf Player of the Year. She will return next year for her junior season along with several other returning players as the Redhawks start a new quest to return to the 2020 UIL State tournament at White Wing GC in Georgetown, TX. In the meantime, Raeleigh's summer season will consist of several high-caliber events such as the TXGA Women's Amateur, the USGA Girls' Junior Qualifier, and several other junior golf tournaments.
